Jess is a photographer with a clear focus on nature. She likes to use multiple exposures, digital and dark-room techniques, and alternative processes (often combined) to explore the inter-connectedness of humans and the natural world, our ancestral synergy with the earth, and our way onwards as these interactions are weakened and lost.
Jess graduated from Lancaster University (Blackpool and The Fylde School of Art) in 2011 with a first class honours in Wildlife and Environmental Photography. She then went on to study for a masters in Wildlife and Landscape Conservation at Sheffield, before making the move up to the Cairngorms National Park. Jess continued down the conservation career path for a little while, before being pulled back into the creative world.
She now has a studio and dark-room space in Grantown on Spey and is enjoying further experimentation and image development using sustainable methods.
